OUR REVIEW
If I'd ever thought to make Birthday Wishes like the ones Mari and Luca make, I'd be one lucky girl! I really enjoyed this novella and can't wait for the next in The List series. Braxton writes with just the right balance of tenderness, humor, and heat. Mari is searching for a good time without guilt since she's none too recently become single and still isn't looking for a relationship. A girl's got needs, though. What she finds is a sensitive, sexy man in Luca.
"I was officially a fan of internet hookups."--Mari
I loved how these two, while acting under the guise of "Lookin' for Nothin' But a Good Time" wind up being drawn to each other in ways other than just the physical.
"Of course. I don't even know for sure what I want. Maybe just for you to say goodbye when you leave tonight?"--Luca
Swoon...major swoon...Luca definitely tugged on my heart-strings with this admission. I fell so hard for him! Just like Mari's mother did!
"She looked at Luca like the souls of her future grandchildren rested entirely on him."--Mari's Mamacita
Now, Luca's not just sweet and romantic and every madre's dream. He's also hot and domineering! Just the right combo, right girls?!
"Hard. Fast. Deep. The trifecta of @#$%^&*..."--Mari on Luca's abilities
Yeah...mmm...hmm...My favorite quote, though..."He kissed my hand and it made me feel like a princess. A wanton, kinky, bruised princess. WOW!!! I pretty sure I can speak for all the girls when I say we all want to feel like this special brand of princess.
My only tiny, teeny issue was that it ended rather abruptly. I know we don't have to wait long, but Braxton definitely left me wanting. I heard she's going to fix that real soon, though!
Author Bio:
Braxton Cole lives in the Pacific Northwest where she spends most of her time holed up in her office writing stories. When she's not writing, she can be found riding her bike, hiking the fabulous local trails, chasing her kids, or wishing that her thumb was a little more green. She has a bad habit of killing what she tries to grow, but hasn't given up hopes of one day being a successful urban farmer.
Braxton writes erotic romance because romance is the stuff that makes life great, and sex is fun. The two belong together, both in life and in fiction. |
