Kim Karr Interview

Where are you from?

I was born in Rochester, NY. Moved to Cleveland, Ohio for 3 years, and then settled in Lakeland, Florida.

Tell us your latest news?

I have completed my first novel, Connected, and it releases March 22nd.

When and why did you begin writing?

I have always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I recently decided to embrace one of my biggest passions—writing.

What inspired you to write your first book?

The night The Voice premiered on NBC in April 2011, I watched it and fell in love with the show and Adam Levine. I started to think about his journey with Maroon 5 and the number of years it took him to gain fame. I had been thinking about writing a book but hadn’t come up with a storyline that intrigued me enough. For some reason, that night the story of Dahlia, River, and Ben came to mind. The name of book was different as well as character names, but the plot never veered.

How did you come up with the title?

Actually Connected was not the original title. I changed in once I got further into in the book and show the connection two of the characters felt.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I think love at first sight is believable and that sometimes two people share an unbreakable bond—a connection.

Who designed the cover?

Okay Creations and Sarah did a fabulous job.
